I dug this brute out of the garden in February. I had pruned it back very hard in the summer of last year with a view to lifting and disposing of it. When I dug it up in Feb I thought ” What the heck” I may as well plant it up and see if someone can use it in a year or two.
There’s only one branch at the moment. It will probable stay like that unless it back buds. The one branch is growing well and that would indicate that the tree has recovered well from lifting and potting.
It’s certainly a long term project but by the end of the year the tree may have established enough to allow some carving.
