I think this tree represents a modest success story in 2012. Ian Y re-styled it for me in October 2011. See post
I have just de-wired it after a full 10 months. It hasn’t been the best growing year for Japanese white pines in the UK and at home here in Northern Ireland it has been a very cloudy and wet season. I think the tree has done well in spite of this and the fact that it was re-potted in the spring.
While it is obvious that the tree has still a lot to do it has filled out quite a bit and all the branches have set in place.
I reckon that the next task is to remove some of the old needles and then look for further growth in the next season. The tree may benefit from some further wiring after it has been given some time to rest.
