Beech Group Planting

I have given this group a bit of a prune to tidy up last seasons extension growth and to promote back budding next year. This arrangement is exactly 1 year old and has done quite well. I have replaced the tree on the extreme right which had died.  Unfortunately I left some of the trunk wiring on much too long and there has been some bad scarring. Hopefully this will grow out with time and will at least improve in appearance over the next couple of seasons.

There are quite a few new shoots appearing on some of the trees. These two pics shows some of the ugly scarring.

All in all I am pleased with the first years progress. I will need to start looking for a suitable pot or slate for the future. i also intend to introduce some surface moss next season.
