Being a pensioner has some advantages. One of them is the free bus and train pass that come to the citizens of Northern Ireland and I used mine on Wednesday past to take the train from Bangor to Coleraine a friend picked me up at the station and we travelled by car to Ballycastle where we boarded the ferry to Rathlin Island. (Free using the Smartpass)
I had never been to Rathlin before and the trip involved a lot of walking. That’s one of the disadvantages of being a pensioner. Walking is harder. It was a great day out with fine weather and I was able to take a few pics to share on the blog.
Of course to fortify oneself for such an arduous task as this it is essential to take a good feed. This is me tucking into a good old Ulster Fry before we boarded the ferry.
If it wasn’t for those teeth I would be a really handsome brute
