This tree received a brutal chop last winter (click) but has recovered well. I have fed it heavily with a view to promoting growth without worrying about needle length etc. When it is eventually put into a suitable pot it will present a really strong image as all they who urged me to chop it predicted. The trunk is about 2 inches diameter and the tree stands about 6 inches tall. The bark is quite mature looking so everything bodes well for the trees future.
Like many white pine this year the tree produced a lot of flowers that I removed. This has resulted in longer branches that are wanted due to the bare area where the flowers have been. In spite of that there is some strong back budding albeit not as much as I would like but it is still early and perhaps some more buds will form for spring growth next year.
