Larch Spring Growth

I took a few minutes out of my busy Saturday afternoon schedule (painting and decorating the kitchen) to take a few outdoor shots of my two larch trees that were recently re-potted

I am really pleased with this tree and the potential it is showing. Its beginning to look like a bonsai. The small twigs (mainly last years growth) were wired in late winter before re-potting and the fresh growth now is really looking good. There is always something about fresh spring growth, with its promise of life, that gives a thrill and this tree is no exception. The tree has made real progress in the last two growing seasons and I am looking forward to what this year produces by way of ramification.

I don’t intend feeding this tree until late spring/early summer in an attempt to keep the needle growth under control. I hope this is the right approach.
