Hawthorn Air layer

This post is all about my success in completing my first air layer and not the quality of the material. This was my first attempt at air layering and it is very satisfying to see the early spring growth. The tree is still in the sphagnum moss that was used for the layering and I hope that with satisfactory root development to be able to bare root and re-pot next spring. Meanwhile it’s a waiting game as the top growth increases.
