My little Deshojo maple (20 inches tall) was in need of a trim and a bit of thinning out to let light into the heart of the tree. I am happy with the result and with the overall shape although I would like it to be a little wider at the bottom. As can be seen the trunk is quite slender so the tree really can’t be more than an inch or so wider. Just to give it a little more triangular shape.
The tree is really doing well and gives a lot of satisfaction. The shots are simply of the front and back of the tree.
I also gave this little Acer osakzsuki a trim . The growth has been excellent this year and the ramification is building up nicely as the tree shape develops. As I look at the pics now I realise I could have thinned it out some more.
