Forsythia

Having faithfully promised my wife “Honest, NO MORE TREES” on numerous occasions I found this stump at the bottom of the garden when clearing out old undergrowth and rubbish. I looked at it and said “Well someone might get the benefit of it somewhere down the line” and it ended up in this old container which was the closest thing to hand at the time. (You’ve got to admit that it’s a cool bit of kit).

This was at the height of our very hot period in July and I didn’t really expect it to survive. Here it is however in all it’s glory. OK I admit that glory is something of an overstatement but the trunk which is about 2 inches diameter was worth the effort. It’s one of those “time will tell” efforts and the truth is that  “er, time will tell”.
