Another Hawthorn

This tree is a genuine windswept yamadori collected from the wall of a derelict cottage in Donegal 12 years ago or thereabouts.

As stated in previous posts I have left the trunk left it more or less as collected as I love the bark and dont want to do anything to destroy it. I have allowed it to fill out but think now that I should be thinking of thinning out the branches to produce a lighter look.

The main back branch has a very straight downward growing branch that changes direction very suddenly. It is unnatural looking but is in fact exactly as it was collected. I intend to try to introduce a little movement into it some time this season without damaging the interesting crocodile skin-like bark.  ow to do this and make it look authentic is any ones guess,

The pics show that it is already producing flower buds.
