Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

We have just returned from a short visit to the Southampton area and thought a short post with a few pics taken in the Portsmouth Historic Dock would be in order. One of the main attractions is Nelson’s HMS Victory which is worth seeing. I just was not expecting it to be as big as it is. As it is in dry dock the underside of the vessel is visible and it is massive. There was almost as much of the ship under the water as above. The hugh oak timbers used for building it were worked and shaped to perfection.
