Sloe, Sloe, Sloe

I thought a pic of the sloes on my blackthorn would make for some interest. This year the tree has produced the best crop of the largest berries ever. It is also interesting to notice that it has already set many of the flower buds for next spring and this seems to bode well for a good display in early spring.

The bark around the lower trunk is also starting to lose it smoothness and take on that unmistakeable rough look of a mature blackthorn.

This little tree has really come on well Michael, deserving of a really good and slightly smaller pot.

  2. Ta Ian, I really love this tree but would like more ramification. As for the pot what colour and shape would you suggest. Maybe someone who was at an auction this year would have one!!!
