I did a little work lately in the form of a little refinement of the carving on this rather large needle juniper. I had taken the tree to a recent garage night where the consensus opinion was that I should remove the lowest back branch ans so free up the dead wood feature completely.
I must say that I resisted the advice but did reduce the branch considerably while making a promise that I would keep an open mind as I considered the suggestion.
I have now taken a few pics and done a virtual with the branch in question removed and I think I am beginning to agree that it should go. I suppose really the possibility that the branch should go is beginning to GROW ON ME.
The tree needs refined and wired which when I get around to it should improve in quite a bit.The plan for the future is that the lowest branch on the right is to be extended another few inches.
